How far are you booked out?
That usually depends on the season. Nov/Dec/Jan don’t have much of a wait and sometimes there’s immediate availability. Spring & Summer into early Fall can be 1-3 month wait. Check with me because certain jobs can be fit into the schedule.
Do you give free estimates?
No, I only give Very Free™ estimates! Why get a free estimate when you can have a Very Free™ estimate? 🙂
What payment types do you accept?
Personal check, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, cash. A check is preferred. Zelle is not preferred as it has daily transfer limits. I do not accept credit cards. Financing is available through a link on
your Very Free™ quote.
Do you collect a deposit?
Yes. Details about the deposit will be included with
your Very Free™ quote.
Can you quote from pictures I send?
Or do you have to see in person?
I can try to quote from pics, but will likely have lots of follow up questions. If schedule allows, I prefer to see the property in person. That way I get to meet you face to face, which is more
interesting and personable.
What areas do you service/how far are you
willing to drive?
Geko Painting is based in Winchester, VA. I prefer to keep my commute to less than an hour. This would include Stephens City, Middletown, Strasburg, Front Royal, Inwood, Martinsburg, Stephenson, Clear Brook, Charles Town, Berryville, Boyce, Round Hill, Purcellville, Leesburg, Ashburn, Middleburg, Shawnee Land, Cross Junction.

Do you hire a crew?
No, I do the work myself. It means each job will obviously take longer than a crew of 5, for instance,
BUT the quality control is the best!
What’s your hourly rate?
I don’t charge by the hour. I charge by the project. Occasionally items come up during the course of work that require additional cost – those items will be discussed with you and you decide if you’d like them added to the quote.
Do I have to be home for you to paint?
No, it’s ok if no one is home. If you are comfortable with the situation, I am perfectly fine to paint while you’re at work or on vacation or whatever the reason.
Are you ok with our pets around?
Yes, I am generally an animal lover. I just ask that reasonable precautions be taken to protect your pets and the paint job.
Are you licensed/insured?
Yes. I am fully licensed and insured in VA & WV.
Who gets the paint?
I usually purchase the paint, using my contractor rates at various local paint stores. You are welcome to buy the paint if you prefer.
What brands of paint do you use?
Sherwin-Williams & Benjamin Moore. Others are ok on a case-by-case basis but I usually avoid Valspar (from Lowes).
Do you move the furniture?
Yes, as needed, and with your help if needed. I like to have the area clear of anything that can be easily moved to a different room. “Sliders” are my best friend.
Do you bring all of your own supplies?
Yes, I bring everything needed for the job. Dropcloths, plastic sheeting, vacuum, tape, poles, brushes, rollers, work lights, ladders, more than I can list here!

Do you help choose colors?
Yes, although I don’t regard it as one of my fortes. I’m happy to provide color fan decks and offer my opinions.

Can you repair water damage & drywall issues?
Usually, yes. I can repair drywall dents, holes, cracks, tape seam issues, bubbling, water stains, and install small sections of drywall that have been cut out from prior repairs.
